POLICE ARREST MAN CARRYING ASSAULT RIFLE AT CTA STATION
Charges are pending Saturday against a man who was found carrying an assault rifle on the platform of the Belmont CTA station in the Lake View neighborhood North Side.
Officers responded at 6: 23 a. m. to a report of a man with a gun on the platform of the Belmont stop in the 900 block of West Belmont, according to Chicago Police. They found a 29- year- old man with an assault rifle who matched the caller’s description of the man.
He was then taken into custody, police said.

$ 2M bond for woman charged with fatal stabbing
Bond was set at $ 2 million for a woman charged with stabbing a 55- year- old man to death early Thursday in the Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side.
Darrel Wilson was stabbed in the left side of his chest at 1: 36 a. m. in the 1500 block of South Millard, according to police.
Carol Matthews, 56, was taken into custody and charged with one felony count of firstdegree murder, police said. A knife was also recovered at the scene. Tom Schuba
Police search for driver in fatal W. Side hit- and- run
Police are searching for the driver of a car that hit a 42- year- old man and then left him for dead early Friday in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.
The hit- and- run crash happened about 3: 30 a. m. in the 3500 block of West Congress, according to Chicago Police.
Police are now searching for a dark gray BMW sedan with damage to the left side and front end. The car was last seen driving west on Congress from St. Louis Avenue, police said.

3 shot, 1 fatally in Marquette Park
A person was killed and two were wounded in a Marquette Park neighborhood shooting late Friday on the Southwest Side.
At 10: 50 p. m., the trio were standing in the 2500 block of West Lithuanian Plaza Court when shots rang out.
Eugene Winters, 18, was shot in the head and killed, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. He lived near the shooting scene.
A 33- year- old woman grazed in the head was taken to the same hospital in serious condition, along with a 34- year- old man shot multiple times in the left shoulder. His condition was stabilized, police said.
No one was in custody Saturday morning.
