Nats’ Gonzalez loses no- hitter in 9th

Gio Gonzalez carried a nohitter into the ninth inning before Dee Gordon broke it up with a leadoff single, and the visiting Washington Nationals blanked the Miami Marlins 1- 0 on Monday.

Gonzalez ( 9- 5), who grew up in the Miami suburb of Hialeah, was lifted after Gordon’s soft liner fell cleanly in left- center field. He struck out five, walked three, hit a batter and retired 14 in a row during one stretch. He threw 106 pitches.

Sean Doolittle got the last three outs for his fourth save since the Nationals acquired him last month in a trade with the Oakland Athletics.

Bryce Harper drove in the only run with a one- out single in the sixth against Julio Urena ( 9- 5), who yielded one run and three hits in eight innings.

NBA Bucks re- sign ex- Bull Snell

The Milwaukee Bucks resigned restricted free- agent swingman Tony Snell, one of their best defenders. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.

Snell, who played three seasons with the Bulls before being traded to the Bucks before last season, set career highs in points ( 8.5) and three- point shooting percentage (. 406) in 2016- 17.

NHL Tortorella gets extension

The Columbus Blue Jackets gave reigning coach of the year John Tortorella a one- year contract extension through 2018- 19. He is 84- 57- 16 since becoming their coach on Oct. 21, 2015.

WNBA Sky, Dream swing deal

The Sky traded center Imani Boyette and forward Tamera Young to the Atlanta Dream for forward Jordan Hooper and a first- round pick in the 2018 draft.
