Kubacki, Josephine ” Dolly” L.

( nee Balsamo), October 25, 1922 to August 11, 2017. Josephine, nicknamed Dolly since she was a child, was born on Union Street in Chicago, Illinois on October 25, 1922. A long time resident of Bridgeport in Chicago, Illinois, she spent her entire 95 years living on Union Street. Josephine married her soul mate the late Frank Kubacki in 1943 and they purchased a home only a few houses down from her birth home. Dolly and Frank were very active going to many dance halls to dance to her favorite Polka Music. She was a member of many different local senior clubs and delighted in playing bingo with “the old ladies.”

Together they had one daughter, Judy ( Jerry) Buergel. Dolly is lovingly remembered by her grandchild­ren, Lisa Buergel and Jerry ( Sheri) Buergel; four great- grandchild­ren, Richard, Aubrianna, Holley and Colton Buergel; her brother, Albert ( Helen) Balsamo; numerous nieces, nephews, and great- nieces and nephews. Dolly will be remembered for her gift of gab, her big smile, her love of Betty Boop, and her generous spirit.

Dolly loved children and was a dedicated supporter of Boys Town her entire life. She often talked about “her boys” at Boys Town. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Boys Town in her honor.

Visitation is Tuesday, August 15, 2017 from 5: 00 p. m. to 9: 00 p. m. at Kerry Funeral Home, 7020 W. 127th Street, Palos Heights, IL 60463. Chapel Service is Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at 10: 00 a. m., Kerry Funeral Home, interment Resurrecti­on Cemetery.
