7 SHOT, 1 KILLED IN W. PULLMAN

Eight people were killed and at least 53 others had been wounded in shootings across Chicago since Friday evening.

Seven people were shot, one fatally, during a single mass shooting incident about 2: 30 a. m. Sunday in the West Pullman neighborho­od on the Far South Side.

The group was in the parking lot of a banquet hall in the 11900 block of South Loomis when a male in a black SUV opened fire, according to Chicago Police. The SUV then sped away.

“Two officers actually witnessed the shooting, took off after the offender’s car,” First Deputy Supt. Kevin Navarro said at an unrelated press conference Sunday afternoon. “There was a slight pursuit on the expressway at which time the officers lost the vehicle on the expressway.”

A male was shot and pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

About 6: 25 p. m. Sunday, a 20- year- old man was killed and two other people were wounded in a shooting in the Lawndale neighborho­od on the West Side. The three people were on the porch of a home in the 3000 block of West Polk when someone opened fire from a passing SUV, according to Chicago Police.

$ 1 million bond in fatal Englewood shooting

A man charged with fatally shooting another man last year in the South Side Englewood neighborho­od has been ordered held on a $ 1 million bond.

Lamarr J. Isaac, 34, faces one count of first- degree murder, according to Chicago Police.

About 12: 45 a. m. on June 20, 2016, Isaac fatally shot 34- year- old Ramal Hicks in the lower back and chest in the 1500 block of West 69th Street, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. Hicks lived in the Auburn Gresham neighborho­od.

About 8: 15 p. m. Thursday, officers spotted Isaac, who was wanted for the shooting, in the passenger seat of a vehicle, and he was arrested, police said.

Isaac, a Pilsen resident, was ordered held on a $ 1million bond at the Cook County Jail, according to Cook County sheriff’s records. Sun- TimesWire

Man charged with 2015 sexual assault at Robbins assisted living facility

A man has been charged with sexually assaulting a woman more than two years ago at an assisted living facility in south suburban Robbins.

Charles Bryant, 57, faces felony counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault and criminal sexual assault, according to the Cook County sheriff’s office.

On June 13, 2015, a 58- year- old resident at an assisted living facility in the 13800 block of Utica Avenue in Robbins reported that she was sexually assaulted by Bryant, according to the sheriff’s office.

After the attack, the woman ran out of the room and later told staff what happened. The sheriff’s office reopened the investigat­ion in November 2016. This year, DNA tied Bryant to the assault, according to the sheriff’s office.

Bryant, now of Hazel Crest, was arrested Saturday, according to the sheriff’s office. Jordan Owen

Shotsfired on Ike

Illinois State Police were investigat­ing shots fired early Sunday on the Eisenhower Expressway on the Near West Side.

Police were notified of shots fired about 3: 45 a. m. in the inbound lanes of I- 290 near Racine, according to Illinois State Police.

Shell casings were found, but no injuries were reported, police said.

All inbound lanes were closed while police investigat­ed, but everything was reopened to traffic by 7: 20 a. m., police said. Jordan Owen

Man seriously injured while jet skiing near Calumet Beach

A man was seriously injured while jet skiing Sunday afternoon near Calumet Beach in the East Side neighborho­od on the Far South Side.

He was jet skiing near the beach when the craft flipped about 4: 20 p. m., according to Chicago Fire Media. The man, whose age was unknown, was taken in serious condition to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Chicago Fire Media said. Jacob Wittich

Pedestrian fatally hit by vehicle on I- 94

A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle Saturday on I- 94 on the Far South Side.

The crash happened about 9: 30 a. m. in the northbound lanes of I- 94 at 130th Street, according to Illinois State Police Master Sgt. Don Orseno. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at 9: 58 a. m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. Sun- TimesWire

Man killed in crash with gas truck in N. Lawndale

A man was killed in a two- vehicle crash early Saturday in the North Lawndale neighborho­od on the West Side.

About 5: 15 a. m., the man was driving a 2007 Buick west in the 4200 block of West Roosevelt when he swerved into oncoming traffic and struck an eastbound Peoples Gas truck head- on, according to Chicago Police.

The driver of the Buick was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he died at 5: 42 a. m., according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. His name and age have not yet been released.

The driver of the truck, a 49- year- old man, was treated at the scene for minor injuries, police said.
