POLICE: 3 DEAD IN JOLIET HOME
Three people were found dead Thursday afternoon inside a southwest suburban Joliet home.
Officers were sent to the home about 2: 50 p. m. in the 1900 block of Great Falls Drive for a death investigation, according to Police Chief Brian Benton.
Officers were met by a person who directed them inside where the bodies of three adults were found, police said. All three had been shot.
Their deaths were being investigated as homicides Thursday night, police said.
The Will County coroner’s office has not released their identities pending notification of family.

2 men injured in Dan Ryan shooting that snarled traffic
All northbound lanes of the Dan Ryan Expressway were reopened Thursday evening following a shooting that left two people wounded on the South Side.
About 1: 50 p. m., a darkcolored SUV pulled alongside a Hyundai sedan traveling north on Interstate 94 near 71st Street, according to Illinois State Police. Someone in the SUV fired shots, striking two males who were in the Hyundai.
About 15 minutes later, the males, whose ages were not immediately known, showed up at St. Bernard Hospital, state police said. They suffered injuries that weren’t believed to be life threatening and their conditions were stabilized.
Northbound lanes were closed until about 6: 30 p. m. while state troopers investigated on the expressway, according to state police.

OSHA probing roofer’s fatal fall from building
The U. S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the death of a worker who fell from the roof of a building Wednesday afternoon in the Southwest Side Ashburn neighborhood.
Martin Hrdlicka, 42, appears to have accidentally fallen from the roof about 1 p. m. in the 2800 block of West Columbus Avenue, according to Chicago Police.
Hrdlicka, who worked for a roofing company called STA Enterprises Inc., fell about 35 feet while performing roof repairs, according to OSHA spokesman Scott Allen. The company was hired by the building’s owner.
“OSHA found no evidence of fall protection in place at the site,” Allen said Thursday. “OSHA has opened an investigation with STA Enterprises.”
A spokesperson for STA Enterprises, based in west suburban Big Rock, declined to comment Thursday.

Police: Man in custody after stabbing boyfriend
A man was in custody early Thursday after stabbing his boyfriend multiple times in the Humboldt Park neighborhood on the West Side, police said.
A 43- year- old man was sleeping about 2 a. m. in the 2900 block of West Division when his boyfriend, a 21- year- old man, grabbed a knifed and stabbed him multiple times in the body, according to Chicago Police.
The victim’s condition was stabilized, police said.
