Crazy looks fill Gucci’s fun show

Gucci’s latest crystal- draped visions of librarian chic landed in Italy on Wednesday, kicking off Milan Fashion Week with the design house’s spring/ summer 2018 show. Creative director Alessandro Michele delivered another glittering, maximalist collectio

PLAYFUL SWEATERS

Disney also made an appearance at the show in the form of a sparkling sweater featuring Snow White and her apple.

SHELL NECKLACES

Puka- shell necklaces may never come back in style, but Gucci’s saber- toothed version is much cooler.

HEAD- TO- TOE PRINTS

From layered patterns to fullbody sequins, Michele isn’t afraid of idiosyncratic prints.

PANTSLESS MODELS

Many of the looks during Wednesday’s show also featured glittering nude socks and tights — in one case, replacing this model’s pants entirely.

3- D GLASSES AND RETRO BANGS

Michele evidently was inspired by the eclipse glasses everyone was sporting several weeks ago, sending models down the runway in boxy, 3- D- style frames that seem poised to replace the tiny glasses in vogue this season.

To match the plastic frames and other vintage- leaning eyewear on the runway, many of Gucci’s models sported side bangs curled into massive hair flips.

HIGH- FASHION CHIN- GUARDS

Last season, Gucci sent a model down the runway in a head- to- toe crystal bodysuit, later worn by Rihanna and Kim Kardashian. At Wednesday’s show, the craziest glittering item was only slightly more understated — a glittering chin- guard, which already is being branded a “crystal beard.”
