2 CHARGED AFTER MAN KILLED A THIS OWN BIRTHDAY PARTY
Two brothers were arrested after aman died in a fight with them Sunday evening during his own birthday party inwest suburban Aurora.
About 12: 15 a. m. Sunday, officers responded to a report of a disturbance in the first block of South State Street and found 36- year- old Erik Mendez lying in the road unconscious, suffering from a head injury, according to Aurora police.
Mendez’s birthday party was being hosted in a yard nearby and a fight had broken out between Mendez and 35- year- old Raul Colin, of Aurora, police said. The fight spilled into the street and, at some point, Colin’s brother, 32- year- old Jose M. Alejandre of Aurora, shoved Mendez.

Police: Violent robber struck twice in 20 minutes
Police arewarning residents about a violent robberwho struck twice in less than 20 minutes Sunday on theNear West Side.
In both incidents, the suspect knocked the victim to the ground and demanded or took property, according to police.
One robbery happened in the 600 block of SouthWood, while the other robbery occurred in the 1800 block of West Harrison, police said.
The suspectwas described as a 150- pound black man, thought to be between 20 and 25 years old, standing between 5- foot- 9 and 5- foot- 11, with short black hair, police said. He waswearing awhite T- shirt and blue jeans.

Man stabbed in road rage
Michael P. Abbinanti, 46, was chargedwith stabbing another driver during a road rage incident Sunday night in north suburbanWaukegan.
Abbinanti and Ramon Quiroz, 36, were involved in a traffic altercation that started near Route 120 and Fairfield Road in Round Lake, the Lake County sheriff’s office said.
The drivers confronted each other near Route 120 and Interstate 94, and Abbinanti stabbed Quiroz several times, according to the sheriff’s office. His motorcyclewas then struck by a passing motorist.
Quirozwas treated for nonlife threatening injuries. He was also chargedwith driving under the influence of alcohol, the sheriff’s office said. JacobWittich
