Ankle might keep LeBron out of opener

-

LeBron James won’t play again in the preseason because of a sprained left ankle, and his status for the Cavaliers’ regular- season opener is in question.

James aggravated his ankle while making his preseason debut Tuesday against the Bulls. Coach Tyronn Lue said the four- time MVP won’t play in the preseason finale Friday against the Magic.

James never has missed a season opener in his 14 NBA seasons.

The Timberwolves signed swingman Andrew Wiggins to a five- year, $ 146.5 million contract extension. The 22- year- old averaged 23.6 points in his third season in the league and has cemented himself as one of the building blocks of an up- and- coming franchise. Pacers forward Glenn Robin

son III will undergo surgery on his injured left ankle and is expected to be out of the lineup until mid-December.
