After not playing Thursday because of injured ribs, Jay Cutler will start at quarterback next week for the Dolphins, but other jobs on offense are up for grabs because some of the best players haven’t learned the playbook, an angry coach AdamGase said at his news conference Friday.

“We’re the worst offense in football. It’s hard to go lower than that,” Gase said a day after the Dolphins lost 40- 0 to the Ravens in their worst loss in 20 seasons.

The Dolphins have now been outscored 152- 92 this season, but they’re 4- 3 thanks to four narrow victories.

“I’m tired of this,” Gase said. “I’m tired of the offense being awful.”

The Dolphins rank last in the NFL in points. With an average of 13.1 points per game, they’re on pace to break the franchise low set by the 1966 expansion team. A rash of missed assignments early in the season prompted Gase to simplify the playbook, but doing so has made the Dolphins too predictable, he said.

He blamed the mental mistakes on players failing to study enough and specifically called out running back Jay Ajayi for missing blocks.

“We’re not putting the work in,” Gase said. “If you can’t remember, you shouldn’t be in the NFL.”

After a report that Texans owner Bob McNair made a comment comparing NFL players to “inmates,” about 10 players left the team facility Friday, including Pro Bowl receiver DeAndre Hopkins, although most later returned, according to ESPN. Coaches reportedly talked the remaining players out of protesting.

McNair publicly apologized after ESPN The Magazine reported he had said, “We can’t have the inmates running the prison” during last week’s ownersmeeting— referring to national anthem demonstrations.

Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who was caught on camera yelling at Vikings linebacker Anthony Barr after the hit that broke Rodgers’ collarbone on Oct. 15, said during an appearance on “Conan” that he was responding to Barr making an obscene gesture at him.

The Bills traded defensive tackle Marcell Dareus to the Jaguars for a 2018 sixth- round pick, the Bills announced. The 2018 pick can become a fifth- rounder based on how Dareus plays, according to ESPN.

Tiger avoids jail time with plea deal

Tiger Woods pleaded guilty to reckless driving in a deal that will keep him out of jail as long as he stays out of trouble, resolving charges from an arrest last spring in which he was found passed out in his Mercedes with prescription drugs and marijuana in his system. Woods, 41, spoke only briefly during a hearing at a Palm Beach County ( Florida) courthouse, answering questions from a judge. Prosecutors dropped a DUI charge.

Matt Lorito scored three goals, including one 53 seconds into the game, as the host Grand Rapids Griffins beat the Wolves 5- 3. The Wolves ( 2- 4- 1- 0) scored twice on the power play. Goalie Kasimir Kaskisuo made 36 saves.
