MACY’S SALES DOWN AS WEATHER TAKES TOLL

Macy’s said its ef­forts to man­age its in­ven­tory paid off in the third quar­ter as it re­ported a profit de­spite a con­tin­ued drop in sales. The hur­ri­canes that pum­meled Florida and Texas, along with a warm au­tumn, took a toll. Sales at Macy’s stores open at least a year fell 3.6%.
