MACY’S SALES DOWN AS WEATHER TAKES TOLL

Macy’s said its efforts to manage its inventory paid off in the third quarter as it reported a profit despite a continued drop in sales. The hurricanes that pummeled Florida and Texas, along with a warm autumn, took a toll. Sales at Macy’s stores open at least a year fell 3.6%.
