1. Catching on ( sort of)

In his Bears debut, new receiver Dontrelle Inman caught a team- best six passes for 88 yards in the 23- 16 loss to the Packers on Sunday.

But Inman also dropped a pass over the middle on a third- and- 10 play from the Bears’ 36 in the final minute.

“It wasn’t high,” Inman said. “Even if it was high, it touched my hands, so I had to catch it.”

It could have been a big play in a dramatic rally for rookie quarterback Mitch Trubisky.

“Oh, yes, there was a lot of room [ to run],” said Inman, who wore a Jonathan Toews Blackhawks sweater to and from the game.

“I’ve got to go back and look at it. I probably looked upfield or something like that and didn’t concentrate like I needed to.”

2. Pressure point

Don’t overvalue the Bears’ three sacks of Packers backup Brett Hundley.

All three were the result of blitzes, and two of them could be attributed to protection issues for the Packers. Linebacker Nick Kwiatkoski and nickel back Cre’Von

LeBlanc had free runs at Hundley for their sacks. With linebacker Christian

Jones rushing inside, outside linebackers Sam Acho and

Leonard Floyd combined for a sack in the third quarter.

In general, the Bears’ fourman pass rush was ineffective. Floyd consistently struggled to beat backup right tackle Justin

McCray, who played for Bryan Bulaga ( torn right anterior cruciate ligament).

3. Whowas in?

The Packers lost their top two running backs— rookie Aaron Jones ( knee) and Ty Montgomery ( ribs)— and still managed to run the ball well. Rookie Jamaal Williams had 20 carries for 67 yards, all in the second half.
