MAN SHOT DEAD IN UPTOWN

A man was shot dead Monday evening in the Uptown neighborho­od on the North side, according to Chicago Police.

At 6: 03 p. m., a teenage boy between 15 and 17 fired shots at the man in the 1200 block of West Leland, police said. The man, whose age wasn’t known, was shot in the chest and taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said. Francesca Gattuso

Female robbed at gunpoint in Wicker Park

A female was robbed at gun point Monday in the Wicker Park neighborho­od.

Three suspects got out of a red car in the 1300 block of North Leavitt about 2: 35 a. m. and robbed the female, according to Chicago Police.

They took her purse and backpack, which contained miscellane­ous items, police said. The victim was not hurt, police said. Jordan Owen

Detroit man and woman charged with buying iPhones on false accounts

A man and woman from Detroit bought five iPhones at a southwest suburban Apple store on someone else’s AT& T account, according to police.

Ernest Bryant Jr. and Ashjanae King, both 21, were each charged with one felony count of identity theft, according to Orland Park police.

On Nov. 5, officers stopped the pair outside the Apple store in the Orland Squar eMall at 428 Orland Square Dr., police said.

Bryant had two iPhone 8 Plus phones and King had three iPhone 8 Plus phones, police said. All five were financed for the full retail price of $ 949 and placed on AT& T accounts. But the accounts were fake, having been created using the personal informatio­n of other people who reside outside Illinois, police said.

Bryant was ordered held at the Cook County Jail on a $ 20,000 bond, and King was ordered held on $ 25,000, police said. Jordan Owen

CTA constructi­on keeps Dan Ryan lane at 95th closed until Sunday

Constructi­on work on the 95th Street Terminal Improvemen­t Project will require the current closure of the innermost southbound lane of the Dan Ryan Expressway near 95th Street to remain in effect until Sunday morning.

An SUV was hijacked from a gas station Monday afternoon on the Near North Side.

A male was pumping gas just before 4 p. m. in the 1200 block of Halsted when a teenage boy got into the Ford Edge SUV and sped off, according to Chicago Police. Francesca Gattuso

2 charged in burglary at Bridgeport Arts Center

Two men have been charged with a burglary that happened at the Bridgeport Arts Center more than a week ago.

The burglary happened between 3: 30- 5: 30 a. m. Nov. 4 in the 1200 block of West 35th, according to Chicago Police.

The suspects stole electronic­s, police said.

Police released surveillan­ce video of the suspects Sunday, and on Monday evening announced that Ricardo Cruz, 22 and Jeremy Gonzalez, 18, each were charged with one felony count of burglary.

They turned themselves in and returned property taken, police said. Nader Issa

Man, 35, wounded in Logan Square drive- by

A 35- year- old man was wounded in a drive- by shooting Monday in the Logan Square neighborho­od on the Northwest Side.

About 12: 30 a. m., he was in a car stopped at a light in the 2800 block of North Kedzie near Diversey Avenue when someone shot at him from an eastbound car in an alley west of Diversey, Chciago Police said.

The man was struck in the head near his ear, as well as the back of his neck, police said.

He took himself to Community First Medical Center and was transferre­d to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where his condition stabilized.
