QB Keenum sparks Vikes’ victory vs. Lions
Case Keenum threw for two touchdowns and ran for a third — all in the first half — to carry the visiting Vikings to a 30- 23 victory Thursday against the Lions.
The result enabled the Vikings ( 9- 2) to take a huge step toward winning the NFC North. They lead the Lions ( 6- 5) by three games and the Packers by 3 ½ .
Keenum was 21- for- 30 for 282 yards. He threw a one- yard touchdown pass to Kyle Rudolph and ran nine yards for a touchdown in the first quarter, then threw a 22- yard touchdown pass to Rudolph in the second.
Matthew Stafford, who suffered an unspecified injury to his right ankle in the fourth quarter, was 20- for- 35 for 250 yards and touchdown passes of six and 43 yards to Marvin Jones for the Lions.
Darius Slay blocked a field goal with 1: 15 left, and teammate Nevin Lawson recovered the ball and returned it 77 yards for an apparent touchdown that would have pulled the Lions to 30- 29, pending the extra point. But Slay was offside on the play.
Chargers 28, Cowboys 6
Philip Rivers passed for 434 yards and three touchdowns in his first Thanksgiving game to fuel the Chargers ( 5- 6) past the host Cowboys ( 5- 6). The Chargers are 5- 2 since an 0- 4 start.
Rivers, who was 27- for- 33, threw touchdown passes of three yards to Hunter Henry and 27 yards to Tyrell Williams in the third quarter and a 42- yarder to Keenan Allen in the fourth for the Chargers, who also got a 90- yard interception return for a touchdown by Desmond King to close the scoring. Allen caught 11 passes for a career- high 172 yards.
Dak Prescott threw two interceptions for the Cowboys, who lost their third consecutive game without running back Ezekiel Elliott, who is serving a sixgame suspension for a domestic- violence incident.
Redskins 20, Giants 10
Kirk Cousins threw a tiebreaking 14- yard touchdown pass to Josh Doctson with 3 ½ minutes left, and the Redskins ( 5- 6) limited the visiting Giants ( 2- 9) to 170 yards of offense on their way to an ugly victory.
The Giants’ only touchdown came on a 53- yard interception return by Janoris Jenkins. Quarterback Eli Manning was held to 113 yards passing and was sacked four times.
