ND suffers letdown in showdown vs. MSU

The Angels acquired veteran closer Jim Johnson and the Braves’ remaining $ 1.21 million in internatio­nal bonus signing allocation for minor- league left- hander Justin Kelly.

The Diamondbac­ks acquired reliever Brad Boxberger, who was an All- Star in 2015 when he led the American League with 41 saves, from the Rays in exchange for minor- league pitcher Curtis Taylor.

Porzingis day- to- day

Knicks star Kristaps Porzingis is day- to- day after spraining his ankle Wednesday against the Heat. An MRI taken on his right ankle was negative.

Heat center Hassan Whiteside has a left knee bone bruise and will miss one- to- two weeks as he undergoes a strength and conditioni­ng program.
