At least one former Bears player thinks the team made the wrong decision when it decided to cut Tre McBride after his argument with fellow receiver Josh Bellamy spilled into the hallway Monday.

Safety Harold Jones- Quartey, whom the Bears cut Sept. 2, tweeted Friday that Bellamy tried to flirt with teammates’ girlfriends on Twitter’s direct message feature.

“Good teammates don’t dive in other teammates girlfriends DMs, lol you sure you got the right guy? # Clap # jusSAyin,” Jones- Quartey tweeted.

Jones- Quartey also included “thinking” and “shrugging shoulders” emojis.

Later, Jones- Quartey tweeted, “Sometimes you gotta expose a lame.”

Bellamy, who was not in the locker room after practice, said Thursday he had no regrets about the argument despite its effects on McBride’s employment. The veteran wide receiver compared it to an argument among brothers, saying he was trying to hold his teammates accountable.

McBride, who was waived Tuesday, joined the Jets’ practice squad Friday. He had eight catches for 144 yards in eight games with the Bears. In nine games with the Titans in the previous two years, he had two catches for eight yards.

Bellamy missed the last game because of a concussion but has been cleared to play Sunday against the 49ers at Soldier Field. He has 12 catches for 171 yards and a touchdown this season.
