Tempers flare late in Jags’ victory

- BY MARK LONG

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Blake Bortles passed for 268 yards and two touchdowns, including a 75- yarder to Keelan Cole, Jaydon Mickens set up another touchdown with a 72- yard punt return and the Jaguars intercepted Russell Wilson three times on their way to a 30- 24 victory Sunday against the Seahawks.

The Jaguars ( 9- 4) won for the sixth time in their last seven games and, thanks to the Titans’ loss to the Cardinals, moved into sole possession of first place in the AFC South. It’s the first time since 2010 the Jaguars have had the outright division lead this late in a season.

‘‘ We really should have [ blown] them out if we’re being real about it,’’ cornerback Jalen Ramsey said after the Jaguars let most of a 27- 10 lead get away.

The loss didn’t sit well with the Seahawks ( 8- 5), who had two players ejected in the final minute. Defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson was ejected for throwing a punch during a melee that started when defensive tackle Michael Bennett dived at center Brandon Linder’s knees while the Jaguars were kneeling to run out the clock.

More pushing and shoving took place after the next play, and defensive end Quinton Jefferson was tossed. Jefferson tried to climb into the stands after getting hit with what looked like a plastic bottle, and Seahawks coach Pete Carroll was penalized for coming onto the field and walking into his team’s huddle, possibly to calm his players down.

Wilson offset his three interceptions with three touchdown passes, including a 61- yarder to Paul Richardson and a 74- yarder to Tyler Lockett in the fourth quarter.
