Krutwig leads Loyola in rout

Cameron Krutwig set career highs with 21 points and 13 rebounds, and Loyola dominated inside and on the boards in beating Bradley 81- 65 at Gentile Arena for its fourth win in five games.

Donte Ingram scored 15 points, Clayton Custer had 12 and Marques Townes 11 for the Ramblers ( 14- 4, 4- 2 Missouri Valley), who outscored the Braves 48- 20 in the paint and outrebound­ed them 35- 28.

Krutwig scored the first four points, and the Ramblers never trailed, extending the lead to 29- 12 after a 15- 2 run capped by Ingram’s three- pointer. Loyola led 39- 24 at halftime after holding the Braves ( 13- 6, 3- 3) to 32 percent shooting.

Custer’s three- point play capped a 12- 5 run for a 51- 29 lead with 13: 49 to play. Krutwig scored nine straight points, and the Ramblers cruised, shooting 58 percent from the floor for the game and scoring 17 points off 11 Bradley turnovers.

North Carolina 69, Notre Dame 68

Joel Berry II hit two free throws with 7.1 seconds left as the No. 20 Tar Heels ( 14- 4, 3- 2 ACC) earned their first conference road victory of the season.

Sophomore point guard T. J. Gibbs had a game- high 19 points and six assists for the host Irish ( 13- 5, 3- 2). In the closing seconds, Gibbs dribbled down the court and put up an errant shot. He got the rebound, but his put- back spun out at the buzzer.

Senior center Martinas Geben scored 14 points as Notre Dame stayed close by hitting 10 of 24 ( 41.7 percent) shots from beyond the arc.

Michigan 82, Michigan State 72

Moritz Wagner overcame a lingering ankle injury, scoring a career- high 27 points to lift the visiting Wolverines ( 15- 4, 4- 2 Big Ten) past the No. 4 Spartans ( 16- 3, 4- 2).

Wagner went 8- for- 13, making 3 of 4 three- pointers. He shot over and drove past every player who at- tempted to defend him.

Zavier Simpson made a go- ahead layup with 14: 28 left, the 13th lead change in an intense game with 11 ties. He finished with 16 points.

Michigan State’s Miles Bridges had 19 points and six rebounds.

Purdue 81, Minnesota 47

Vincent Edwards scored 25 points in 29 minutes as the No. 5 Boilermake­rs ( 17- 2, 6- 0 Big Ten) easily beat the undermanne­d host Gophers ( 13- 6, 2- 4) for their 13th consecutiv­e victory.

Isaac Haas pitched in 14 points and five rebounds for Purdue, which is 6- 0 for its best Big Ten start since the 1989- 90 season. Minnesota suffered its second- worst margin of defeat at home in program history.

Texas Tech 72, West Virginia 71

Keenan Evans scored 20 points, Brandone Francis had a careerhigh 17 and No. 8 Texas Tech ( 15- 2, 4- 1 Big 12) won the first- ever top- 10 matchup on its home court, beating No. 2 West Virginia.

The Mountainee­rs ( 15- 2, 4- 1) couldn’t hold an 11- point lead in the final 13 minutes and had their nation- leading 15- game winning streak stopped. Jevon Carter led the team with 28 points.

Oklahoma 102, TCU 97 ( OT)

Trae Young scored 29 of his 43 points after halftime in the No. 9 Sooners’ ( 14- 2, 4- 1 Big 12) overtime win over the visiting No. 16 Horned Frogs ( 13- 4, 1- 4).

Young, the freshman who leads the nation in scoring and assists, also had 11 rebounds and seven assists. Brady Manek added 22 points for the Sooners, who made a schoolreco­rd 19 three- pointers.
