Hundreds of flights canceled amid snow

More than 600 flights were canceled at Chicago’s airports while another winter storm brought snow Monday night.

As of 8 p. m., 557 flights had been canceled at O’Hare Airport, while 40 flights had been grounded at Midway Airport, according to the Chicago Department of Aviation. Sun- TimesWire

1 of 3 teen boys charged in attempted carjacking of retired cop arrested again

One of three teenage boys charged with trying to steal a retired police officer’s running vehicle Friday evening in Streetervi­lle was arrested again Sunday night in connection with another carjacking.

The 54- year- old retired officer was unloading his vehicle at 7: 14 p. m. outside a hotel in the 300 block of East Ohio when a 15- year- old boy walked up to him and sat in the driver’s seat, according to Chicago Police.

The boy tried to drive off, but the officer jumped into the vehicle and called authoritie­s, police said. The 15- year- old boy and two other boys— ages 14 and 17 — were taken into custody.

One of the teenage boys was arrested again Sunday night— less than 48 hours after being released— with a gun in another stolen car, said CPD spokesman Anthony Guglielmi. The arrest happened in the South Side Englewood neighborho­od. Tom Schuba

Robbers push wheelchair, steal man’s phone on Blue Line

Authoritie­s are looking for two people who threatened a man in a wheelchair and stole his cellphone last week on a CTA Blue Line train near Damen Avenue on theWest Side.

At 2: 37 p. m. Jan. 24, the two males took control of the man’s wheelchair and attempted to force him off of the train, Chicago Police said. When the man resisted, they took his cellphone and ran off, police said.

Man found shot to death inWest Pullman

A man was shot to death early Monday in theWest Pullman neighborho­od on the Far South Side, police said.

Officers responded at 12: 55 a. m. to a call of a person shot and found the man in a vacant lot in the 11800 block of South Indiana, according to Chicago Police. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. JacobWitti­ch
