NOV. 6, 1996

Legghette is charged with possession of a controlled substance and pleads guilty in March 1997. He is sentenced to a year of probation. He is later found to have violated probation and sentenced to three years in prison.

JAN. 24, 1998

Legghette is charged with two counts of armed robbery for an incident in Forest Park. He is found guilty and sentenced to a maximum of 16 years in prison. In that incident he and a co- defendant robbed two victims at gunpoint while fleeing in a vehicle. They led police on a chase going over 100 miles per hour on the expressway before they smashed their car into a tollbooth. Police arrested them on foot. Legghette is released on parole after serving eight years on July 18, 2005.

NOV. 11, 2007

While on parole, Legghette is charged with manufactur­ing and delivering less than 100 grams of heroin, felony possession of body armor and possession of a firearm with a defaced serial number. His parole is revoked. He is released from prison on March 14, 2008, after completing his max sentence from the 1998 case. In 2009, Legghette pleads guilty to the firearm possession charge and is sentenced to a minimum three years in prison. He is credited for time served and let out on parole Oct. 27, 2009.

JUNE 27, 2009

Legghette is charged with possession of a controlled substance, but the charges are dropped the following month.

JAN. 8, 2010

Legghette fails a drug test and is readmitted to prison for the parole violation. He gets out on parole on March 1, 2010.

JUNE 17, 2010

Legghette fails another drug test and is back in prison. His parole is revoked and he is released on Aug. 18, 2010 after completing his sentence.

APRIL 18, 2011

Legghette is arrested on two counts of resisting an officer and two counts of battery. He is arrested in the 600 block of East 43rd in Bronzevill­e after a 16- year- old girl told police he approached her and made sexual advances, according to the police report. He is found guilty on one count of misdemeano­r battery and sentenced to a year of probation and 30 days of community service.

AUG. 18, 2014

Legghette is charged with two drug possession counts. In Sept. 2014, Legghette is released for a month on electronic monitoring before he is taken back into custody the following month. It’s unclear why he is back in custody. In January 2015, he pleads guilty to one count and is sentenced to two years in prison. He is discharged on parole on Aug. 15, 2016.

FEB. 14, 2018

Legghette is charged with the first- degree murder of Chicago Police Cmdr. Paul Bauer. He is also charged with a count of unlawful use of a weapon, armed violence and two drug possession charges.
