Reserves Finke, Jordan fuel Illini
Michael Finke and Aaron Jordan came off the bench to combine for 34 points to carry Illinois to a 75- 62 victory Sunday against Rutgers in Piscataway, New Jersey.
After the Scarlet Knights scored the first six points of the second half to take a 36- 35 lead, Trent Frazier made a three- pointer that put the Illini ( 14- 17, 4- 14) ahead to stay. Illinois pulled away from there.
Finke scored 19 points and Jordan 15 to help the Illini outscore Rutgers 37- 5 off the bench. Leron Black added 14 points for Illinois.
Corey Sanders led four players in double figures with 18 points for the Scarlet Knights ( 13- 18, 3- 15).
Iowa 77, Northwestern 70
Jordan Bohannon made seven three- pointers and scored 25 points, Luka Garza added 18 and the Hawkeyes ( 13- 18, 4- 14) ended a six- game losing streak with a Big Ten victory against the Wildcats ( 15- 16, 6- 12) in Iowa City.
Scottie Lindsey tied a school record with nine three- pointers and scored 32 points for Northwestern, which lost its sixth game in a row.
Wright State 88, UIC 81
Loudon Love scored 23 points, grabbed 15 rebounds and handed out five assists, Grant Benzinger added 21 points and the Raiders ( 22- 9, 14- 4) rallied from an eightpoint halftime deficit to defeat the Flames ( 17- 14, 12- 6) in Horizon League play at the Pavilion.
Dikembe Dixson led four players in double figures with 19 points for UIC.
Michigan State 68, Wisconsin63
Cassius Winston scored 20 points, including 6- for- 6 from threepoint range, and the No. 2 Spartans ( 28- 3, 16- 2) clinched the Big Ten regular- season title outright by fighting off the Badgers ( 14- 17, 7- 11) in Madison, Wisconsin. Brad Davison scored 30 points for Wisconsin.
Purdue 84, Minnesota 60
Dakota Mathias matched his career high with 25 points and left to a standing ovation in his last home game as the No. 9 Boilermakers ( 26- 5, 15- 3) blew out the Golden Gophers ( 15- 16, 4- 14) in Big Ten action in West Lafayette, Indiana.
Nebraska 76, Penn State 64
Isaac Copeland led five players in double figures with 17 points, and the Cornhuskers ( 22- 9, 13- 5) clinched a double- bye in the Big Ten tournament by coasting past the Nittany Lions ( 19- 10, 9- 9) in Lincoln, Nebraska. Tony Carr led Penn State with 27 points.
