A person of interest was being questioned by authoritie­s Monday evening in connection with a shooting at a South Loop parking garage.

About 4: 30 p. m., two males got out of a darkcolore­d SUV and began shooting in the direction of a dark- colored sedan in a parking garage in the 1100 block of South Clark, according to Chicago Police.

The shooters ran away, and no one was hurt, police said. Area Central detectives were investigat­ing the shooting and were questionin­g a person of interest, police said.

Cabdriver charged with sexually abusing passenger in River North

A cabdriver has been charged with kidnapping and sexually abusing a woman who got into his cab early Saturday in River North.

The 24- year- old woman hailed Murasbek Elchiev’s taxi about 2: 35 a. m. in the 300 block ofWest Ontario, according to Chicago Police.

During the ride, Elchiev locked the doors and grabbed the woman, police said. She got out and ran away. Elchiev, of Niles, was arrested at 3: 18 p. m. Saturday in a parking lot at O’Hare Airport, police said. He was charged with felony counts of aggravated kidnapping, aggravated criminal sexual abuse and unlawful restraint.

Teen posted unfounded threat against school on hacked Facebook account

A 16- year- old boy is accused of hacking into another student’s social media account Sunday and threatenin­g to carry out a shooting at a high school in northwest Indiana.

The teen hacked into the male student’s Facebook account and posted a status that said he was going to shoot up Chesterton High School in Chesterton, Indiana, according to Porter County Sheriff’s Police.

Deputies and officials with the the Duneland School Corp. learned about the threat about 6: 15 p. m. Sunday and started an investigat­ion, the sheriff’s office said. Authoritie­s determined that the threat wasn’t credible.

The boy who made the threat was enrolled at Chesterton when he posted the message to Facebook, the sheriff’s office said. He was taken to a hospital Sunday for an evaluation.

On Monday, the boy admitted to gaining access to the other student’s Facebook account through a cellphone they previously shared, the sheriff’s office said. He said he posted the message in an attempt to get the other student into trouble.

Man, woman wounded in Avondale shooting

A man and a woman were shot Monday morning in the Avondale neighborho­od on the Northwest Side.

The 34- year- old man and a 31- year- old woman were in a vehicle at 10: 51 a. m. in the 2700 block of West Fletcher when a male fired shots from an alley, according to Chicago Police. The man was struck multiple times, and the woman suffered a graze wound.

They drove themselves to Belmont and Western and were then taken by ambulance to Illinois-Masonic Medical Center, police said. The man was listed in serious condition while the woman was listed in good condition.

Hit- run driver strikes car carrying 5- month- old baby

A hit and run driver caused a crash after running a red light early Monday in the Roseland neighborho­od on the Far South Side.

The driver was traveling southbound in a black Cadillac and ran the red light and struck a Hyundai Sonata about 12: 57 a. m. in the 10700 block of South Wentworth Ave., Chicago Police said.

A woman, a man and a 5- month- old were in the Hyundai, which was traveling westbound on 107th Street.

After striking the vehicle, the Cadillac struck a residence and caused minimal damage. The driver then drove away, police said.

The man and woman had minor injuries. The baby was not injured, police said.

Woman groped on Blue Line in Irving Park

A woman was groped by a man on a CTA Blue line train Sunday night in the Irving Park neighborho­od on the Northwest Side.

The 25- year- old woman told police that an unknown man sat behind her on the train and then reached forward and touched her in the area of her buttocks and hips, Chicago Police said.

The incident occurred at 11: 52 p. m. in the 3600 block of West Addison while the woman was traveling between Irving Park and Addison, police said.

The woman exited the train and refused medical attention, police said.
