Netflix shares up on earnings
In its release of first- quarter earnings Monday, Netflix reported adding another 7.4million video- streaming subscribers during the first three months of the year, ending March with 125 million world wide, including nearly 57 million in the U. S. Netflix’s stock climbed more than 5 percent in extended trading.
Toyota vows car- to- car communication
DETROIT— Toyota said it will start equipping models with technology to talk to other vehicles starting in 2021. Vehicle to-vehicle signals can warn others of heavy braking ahead or that another vehicle is headed into their path.

Retail sales climb
WASHINGTON— U. S. consumers bounced back in March and bought more cars, furniture and appliances after three months of declines. The Commerce Department said retail sales rose 0.6 percent.

WPP slides on Sorrell resignation
