Hole in dome roof wipes out game

The Blue Jays’ home game Monday against the Royals was postponed because of damage to the roof of Rogers Centre, including a large hole created by falling ice from the nearby CN Tower. It was reschedule­d as part of a doublehead­er Tuesday.

Multiple reporters posted photos on social media of the hole, which caused leaking onto the turf field of the stadium.

Police said they blocked off the area directly under the CN Tower and the stadium after ‘‘ relatively large’’ blocks of ice tumbled onto the streets and sidewalks. No injuries had been reported.

‘‘ If you come to a dome and get banged, something ain’t right,’’ Royals manager Ned Yost said.

Kiermaier out 2 to 3 months

Rays center fielder Kevin Kiermaier has a torn ligament in his right thumb that will require surgery, and he might be out two to three months.

The Rays put Kiermaier on the 10- day disabled list after he was injured while sliding headfirst into second base Sunday against the Phillies.

Deja vu for Pirates’ Harrison

The Pirates put second baseman Josh Harrison on the 10- day disabled list with a broken pinkie on his left hand suffered when he was hit by a pitch Sunday against theMarlins. Hewill miss sixweeks.

It was the same injury Harrison suffered when he was hit by a pitch during a game against the Reds late last season.

Judge makes bit of history

Aaron Judge became the fastest player in major- league history to reach 60 career home runs, doing so in his 197th game, in the Yankees’ 12- 1 rout of the visiting Marlins. Mark McGwire had held the previous mark at 202 games.
