Cabrera out for rest of season

Miguel Cabrera ruptured his left biceps tendon Tuesday night, an injury that will sideline the slugger for the rest of the season, during the Tigers’ 6- 4 loss to the visiting Twins.

The two- time AL MVP will have surgery this week, the Tigers said. Cabrera, playing his 12th game since missing 26 with a hamstring strain, exited in the third inning and underwent an MRI during the game.

Cabrera was hitting .301 this season with three homers and 22 RBI.

Didi Gregorius ended a long power outage with a pair of home runs, Nationals slugger Bryce Harper left in the eighth inning after he was hit by a pitch for the second time, and the Yankees beat the Nationals 3- 0 for their 10th win in 12 games.

The Padres’ bullpen took a perfect game into the sixth inning in a 4- 2 victory against the Cardinals. The Padres have won 10 of their last 14 games.

Dodgers rookie righthande­r Walker Buehler was put on the 10- day disabled list after an MRI revealed a microfract­ure in his rib cage.
