Willie O’Ree, now 82, who became the first black player in the NHL in 1958 when he was called up by the Bruins. O’Ree scored four goals with 10 assists in 45 NHL games despite being 95 percent blind in his right eye.

Forward Martin St. Louis, four- time gold- medal- winning Canadian star Jayna Hefford and Russian Alexander Yakushev round out the six- person class that will be inducted Nov. 12 in Toronto.

Police in Bergen County, New Jersey, are investigat­ing a body found at a the Fair Lawn home of Giants cornerback Janoris Jenkins. ESPN reported Tuesday night that the man was identified as 25- year- old Roosevelt Rene, a family friend of Jenkins who had been living at the house, and that police are treating it as a homicide investigat­ion.

Jenkins has been in Florida since minicamp ended two weeks ago, ESPN reported. Magic puts job on the line

Magic Johnson says he will step down as the Lakers’ president of basketball operations— a job he took in February 2017 — if he can’t persuade an elite free agent to sign with the team within the next two summers.

With Paul George and potentiall­y LeBron James headlining the market this summer, Johnson is leading the Lakers’ efforts to land both players. If those efforts fail, he’ll pursue the large crop of free agents who will become available in 2019.
