2 men shot, 1 fatally, in Austin

Two men were shot, one fatally, Sunday night in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side. The men were standing on a sidewalk when three males got out of a black SUV and fired shots at 8:21 p.m. in the 4900 block of West Adams, according to Chicago Police.

A 21-year-old man was shot in the head and chest and taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. A 20-year-old man was shot in the right leg; his condition stabilized, police said.

Woman, 65, shot in Morgan Park

A woman was shot Sunday afternoon in the Morgan Park neighborhood. The 65-year-old was shot in the arm about 5:50 p.m. in the 11100 block of South Halsted, according to Chicago Police. She was in good condition at a hospital, police said.

Boy, 16, fatally shot in Belmont Central

A 16-year-old boy was shot to death Saturday evening in Belmont Central neighborhood. About 7:10 p.m., Jesus A. Lopez was in the 5900 block of West Diversey Avenue when someone exited a vehicle in an alley, approached the boy and fired shots, Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. Lopez died at Illinois Masonic Medical Center, authorities said. He lived in the same neighborhood where he was killed.

Woman, 38, shot several times

A 38-year-old woman was wounded in a shooting about 10:10 p.m. Saturday in the 6200 block of South Vernon Avenue. She heard gunshots and felt pain, Chicago Police said. She was struck twice in her arm, once in her stomach and once in her ankle. Her condition was stabilized at a hospital, police said.

About 12:25 a.m., the 48-year-old was in a backyard in the 13200 block of South Corliss when two males approached and opened fire, according to Chicago Police.
