Sky fall after second-half meltdown

Allie Quigley hit four threepoint­ers and scored 22 points, but the Sky lost 85-64 to the Minnesota Lynx on Tuesday night at Wintrust Arena.

Maya Moore scored 31 points to help the Lynx (16-13) end a threegame losing streak. The Lynx started the second half on a 12-0 run for a 51-38 lead and outscored the Sky 29-15 in the third quarter. The Sky (10-19) didn’t make their first fourth-quarter field goal until the 5:28 mark.

Colon sets mark

Rangers 45-year-old pitcher Bartolo Colon moved past Nicaragua’s Dennis Martinez for the most victories (246) all time by a Latin American-born pitcher in an 11-4 win against the Mariners.

◆ The Red Sox scored five runs in the 10th inning on Mitch Moreland’s three-run homer and Jackie Bradley Jr.’s two-run shot to beat the host Blue Jays 10-7 for their fifth consecutiv­e win. The Red Sox became the fourth team since 1961 to reach 80 victories in 114 games or fewer. The previous three were the 2017 Dodgers, the 2001 Mariners and the 1998 Yankees.

◆ Nationals rookie Juan Soto hit his 14th homer of the season, moving past Mickey Mantle into a tie with Phil Cavarretta for the fifthmost by a teenager in MLB history.

Luck will start Thursday

Colts coach Frank Reich says quarterbac­k Andrew Luck will start and is expected to play most of the first quarter in Thursday night’s preseason opener at Seattle. Luck has not played in more than 19 months while recovering from surgery on his throwing shoulder.

◆ Browns rookie receiver Antonio Callaway, who had a history of issues while in college at Florida, was cited early Sunday morning for marijuana possession and driving with a suspended license.
