Ruelo, Ricardo Romero
78, of Chicago, passed away on August 10, 2018, in Chicago.
Ricardo Ruelo was born in Bicol, Philippines to Silvestre and Eugenia Ruelo on March 25, 1940. He married Carolina Potoza Ruelo on April 13, 1969 in Nasugbu, Batangas. He worked as a Staff Artist for 19 years.
Ricardo is survived by his wife, Carolina Ruelo; daughter, Katherine and son-in-law, Benjamin DeCastro, grandchildren, Kendrick, Bradley, Khristian and Brayden DeCastro; daughter, Rachel Ruelo and son-in-law, Elmer Dela Cruz; daughter, Kristine and son-in-law, Hoover Abejero, grandchildren, Patrick and Olivia Abejero; son, Rommel Ruelo and daughter-in-law, Natalie Ruelo, grandchildren, Richard and Ava Ruelo. Siblings and their families: Roberto Ruelo, Rodrigo Ruelo, Rolando Ruelo, Ruben Ruelo, Roderick Ruelo, Melba Herrera, Nene Ruelo and Judy Palencia. Ricardo was a good father to four children, best grandfather to eight grandchildren and a loving husband to his wife. He loved to paint, took excellent pictures and portraits, an artist of a kind, and an avid basketball fan. Funeral services will be held at MontclairLucania Funeral Home on Monday, August 13 and Tuesday, August 14, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Irving Park Cemetery on Wednesday, August 15 after the 9:30 mass at Montclair-Lucania Funeral Home.
