(nee Kasper) 70, passed away Friday, August 17, 2018, after a long illness. Born June 30, 1948, in Chicago, the daughter of Alex and Anne (Jakovich) Kasper. She attended McClellan Elementary School and Thomas Kelly High School. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education from Southern Illinois University, a Master of Social Work from the University of Chicago, and a Master of Science in Early Childhood Education from National Louis University. Jane was a community leader being the Executive Director of El Hogar del Nino (Home of the Child in the Pilsen and Little Village Communitie­s) for over 30 years. She was godmother to 11 of those children. Jane married Raul Mancillas on December 8, 1988.

Survivors include husband, Raul; brother, Michael (Mary) Kasper; nephew, Michael Kasper; niece Anne Campbell; grandnephe­w, Logan Campbell; and special foster children, Yaruzy, Yaretzi and Yaendi. Preceded in death by her parents; aunt, Michaelene Smith; and uncles, Henry Smith and Eddie Kasper.

Visitation Friday, August 24, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., at NATIVITY OF OUR LORD CHURCH, 653 W. 37th St., Chicago. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Burial Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
