30-year-old man killed in Gresham

A 30-year-old man was shot to death Wednesday afternoon in the Gresham neighborhood on the South Side, according to police.

About 3:35 p.m, two males walked up to the man and began shooting as he stood on a sidewalk in the 1700 block of West 85th Street, according to Chicago police.

He was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

A person was wounded in a shooting Wednesday afternoon in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

Just before 4 p.m., the male suffered a gunshot wound to his lower body when someone fired shots from a vehicle that pulled up beside him in the 700 block of West 66th Place, according to Chicago police.

The vehicle drove off west after the shooting, police said. The male, whose age wasn’t known, was taken to St. Bernard Hospital and was in good condition. Sun-Times Wire

19-year-old man shot in Brainerd

A man was shot Wednesday afternoon in the Brainerd neighborhood on the South Side.

The 19-year-old was struck in the upper right thigh about 3:45 p.m. while walking in the 1200 block of West 90th Street, according to Chicago police. He was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn and was in good condition, police said.

Alice Yin Man accused of burglarizing Hyatt hotel

A man is accused of stealing power tools during a burglary Sunday morning at the Hyatt Regency hotel in west suburban Lisle.

Julian L. Matino, 23, was charged Tuesday with felony burglary and theft, according to Lisle police.

Hotel staff reported to police that power tools worth about $1,300 were stolen from the property early Sunday morning, police said. Matino, a resident of west suburban Glen Ellyn, was identified as a possible suspect, police said. Officers have recovered the stolen items and were holding them for investigation. Matino’s bond was set Tuesday at $2,000, according to the DuPage County sheriff ’s office.
