3 teens, 1 woman wounded by gunfire on Far South Side

Three teenagers and one woman were shot Tuesday evening in the Trumbull Park neighborho­od on the Far South Side.

At 7:12 p.m., the four of them were wounded by gunfire in the 10600 block of South Bensley Avenue, according to Chicago police.

The woman, 21, was shot in the right hip, and her condition had stabilized, police said. A 16-year-old boy was shot multiple times and was in critical condition, while another 16-year-old boy’s condition stabilized after he was shot in the right lower leg. The fourth person, a 19-year-old man, was shot in the left elbow, and his condition had stabilized.

17-year-old boy shot in shoulder near Humboldt Park fieldhouse

A teenager was wounded in a shooting Tuesday afternoon along the main road that bisects Humboldt Park.

The 17-year-old was shot about 5:55 p.m. while sitting on a bench in the 1400 block of North Luis Munoz Drive, according to Chicago police. The shooting unfolded between the park’s fieldhouse and lagoon.

Several males fired at him with at least one gun, police said. He walked into Norwegian American Hospital in good condition with a gunshot wound to his shoulder.

Area North detectives were investigat­ing, and officers took four people of interest into custody, police said.

Teen driver shot by person in passing car in Logan Square

An 18-year-old man was shot Tuesday night while driving in the Logan Square neighborho­od on the Northwest Side.

About 10 p.m. the man was traveling in the 2300 block of North Kedzie when a male inside a black Ford Focus started shooting at him, according to Chicago police.

He suffered a gunshot wound to his shoulder and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.

Semi plows into apartment building

A semi-truck crashed into an apartment building Tuesday morning in south suburban Lansing.

At 4:53 a.m., the semi-truck left the roadway and crashed into the apartment complex at 18423 Torrence Avenue, according to preliminar­y informatio­n from Lansing police. The driver of the semi and one person who was inside the building were taken to a hospital, where their conditions were stabilized, police said. Their ages and genders were not immediatel­y available.

Torrence Avenue was closed in both directions at 184th Street for several hours, police said. The truck was removed from the building, and the street was reopened by 12:14 p.m.

Man says he was shot on West Side but was too intoxicate­d to know

A man shot Monday night says he was too intoxicate­d to realize he was wounded until the following morning.

The 19-year-old sought treatment about 5 p.m. Tuesday at Roseland Community Hospital, 45 W. 111th St., after realizing he was shot in the chest, according to Chicago police.

Investigat­ors believe he was shot about 11:30 p.m. the night before, police said. The man told investigat­ors he was intoxicate­d on the West Side and didn’t realize he was shot until Tuesday morning.

Police have not found a crime scene, and Area South detectives were investigat­ing.
