Bowen details son’s offers

Brian Bowen Sr., who is accused of agreeing to a pay-for-play scheme to receive $100,000 from Adidas to send his son to Louisville, testified at a federal trial that an aspiring agent told him he could also get $50,000 to play at Arizona, $150,000 to go to Oklahoma State or $100,000 to go to Creighton.

Bowen Sr. also told the jury that he received $2,000 per month from Shane Heirman for his son to attend La Lumiere School in LaPorte, Indiana. Heirman was the head coach of La Lumiere at the time, and is now an assistant coach at DePaul.

Brian Bowen II, is currently playing profession­ally in Australia.

Anderson headed to Hall

Former Wolves head coach John Anderson, who directed the franchise to four league championsh­ips, will be inducted into the AHL Hall of Fame on Jan. 28. Anderson, who led the Wolves to Calder Cup championsh­ips in 2002 and 2008, ranks fifth on the AHL’s all-time list with 424 regular-season victories.

Irving plans to stay with Celtics

Kyrie Irving says he intends to re-sign with the Celtics next summer. The point guard is entering the final year of a five-year, $94 million contract he signed with the Cavs before the 2015-16 season.

♦ Phil Mickelson had six straight birdies and shot a 7-under 65 to pull within two strokes of leader Sepp Straka in the PGA Tour’s season-opening Safeway Open in Napa, California.

♦ Christian Pulisic will not be able to play for the United States in upcoming friendlies against Colombia and Peru because of injury.
