Field goal on last play lifts Pack past Niners

-

Mason Crosby kicked a 27-yard field goal — his fourth field goal of the game after missing four last week — as time expired, and the Packers scored 10 points in the last 1:55 on their way to a 33-30 victory against the visiting 49ers on ‘‘Monday Night Football.’’

After the Packers tied the score at 30 on a 16-yard touchdown pass from Aaron Rodgers to Davante Adams with 1:55 left, they got the ball back when Kevin King intercepted a pass by C.J. Beathard at the Packers’ 9 with 1:07 to play.

Rodgers then guided the Packers 81 yards without a timeout to set up Crosby’s winning kick. The drive was extended when 49ers cornerback Richard Sherman was called for illegal contact on third-and-15 to wipe out a sack of Rodgers with 43 seconds left.

Rodgers, who also scrambled for a 21-yard gain on the winning drive, threw for 425 yards and two touchdowns for the Packers (3-2-1). Beathard passed for 245 yards and two touchdowns for the 49ers (1-5).

Bills QB Allen out indefinitely

Bills rookie quarterback Josh Allen is out indefinitely after suffering an injury to his right (throwing) elbow Sunday against the Texans.

Without providing many details, coach Sean McDermott only would say Allen — the No. 7 overall pick in the NFL Draft last spring — was week-to-week. McDermott said he will know more after meeting with team doctors Tuesday.

The injury to Allen leaves McDermott to decide whether turnover-prone backup Nathan Peterman or recently signed veteran Derek Anderson will start for the Bills on Sunday against the Colts.

Dolphins’ Tannehill day-to-day

Dolphins coach Adam Gase said quarterback Ryan Tannehill might return Sunday against the Lions, but there’s uncertainty about how badly his right (throwing) shoulder is hurt.

Gase called Tannehill’s status day-to-day and said he’s confident he will play again this season. Brock Osweiler started in Tannehill’s place Sunday against the Bears and passed for 380 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Dolphins to a 31-28 overtime victory.

More injuries of note

Vikings coach Mike Zimmer confirmed rookie cornerback Mike Hughes suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee after he and Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald got their feet tangled Sunday.

Rams coach Sean McVay said receiver Cooper Kupp’s status is week-to-week because of a sprained left knee suffered Sunday against the Broncos.

Falcons kicker Matt Bryant suffered a strained right hamstring while making a 57-yard field goal Sunday against the Buccaneers and is expected to miss a game.

Bucs fire D-coordinator Smith

The Bucs fired defensive coordinator Mike Smith and replaced him with linebackers coach Mark Duffner. They are next-to-last in total defense and have allowed a league-high 34.6 points per game, including 48 against the Bears.
