3 hurt in shooting, crash on I-57 near Calumet Park
All northbound lanes of traffic were closed after multiple people were hurt when a vehicle sustained gunfire and crashed Monday night on Interstate 57 near south suburban Calumet Park.
Bullets struck the vehicle about 7:55 p.m. on I-57 near 123rd Street, according to Illinois State Police. The vehicle then veered off the roadway and struck a pole. Three people were taken to hospitals, but it wasn’t clear whether they were wounded in the shooting or injured during the crash, ISP said. Just before 10 p.m., all northbound lanes of I-57 were closed, and traffic was being diverted at 127th Street, state police said.

Girl, 17, shot while standing with group
A 17-year-old girl was wounded in a shooting Monday evening in the South Side Chatham neighborhood. The girl was standing with a group of people about 6 p.m. in the 7900 block of South Lafayette when a male fired shots, striking her in the buttocks, according to Chicago police. She was taken to a hospital in good condition, police said.

Man shot during carjacking
A man was shot during a carjacking early Monday in the Heart of Chicago neighborhood on the South Side.
The 29-year-old left his white car running on the street while sitting in another vehicle in the 1600 block of West Cullerton, according to Chicago police. At 1:34 a.m., a male got out of a black car and got into the white car. When the 29-year-old approached his car, the carjacker fired shots, police said. He was shot in the abdomen and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was in critical condition, police said.

Woman, 50, critically wounded
A 50-year-old woman was shot and critically wounded Monday evening in the Marquette Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side. Just before 5 p.m., the woman was shot in the head in the 6800 block of South Rockwell, according to Chicago police. She was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in critical condition, police said.

Woman, 85, killed in Northfield crash
An 85-year-old woman was killed in a crash Sunday morning in Northfield.
Carla Noumberg was involved in the crash about 11:30 a.m. Sunday at Waukegan Road and Three Lakes Drive, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
She was pronounced dead shortly after, authorities said. An autopsy Monday found she died of multiple injuries in the crash, and her death was ruled an accident.
