Saints sign WR Bryant

-

The Saints signed free-agent receiver Dez Bryant to a one-year deal. It is not known if he will play against the Bengals on Sunday. Bryant, 30, spent his first eight seasons with the Cowboys and has the most touchdown receptions (73) in that team’s history. Seeking salary-cap relief, the Cowboys released Bryant in April with two years remaining on his five-year, $70 million contract.

♦ The Falcons signed edge rusher Bruce Irvin, who was released by the Raiders last Saturday. The Falcons rank 27th in the league with 17 sacks.

♦ Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill (shoulder) will not play against the Packers. Backup Brock Osweiler will make his fifth consecutive start.

♦ Jets quarterback Sam Darnold has a strained right foot and might not play against the Bills.

♦ The Vikings claimed running back Ameer Abdullah off waivers from the Lions.

♦ Eagles running back Darren Sproles (hamstring) will play against the Cowboys after missing seven consecutive weeks.
