Leno, Martha

Age 97, was carried home to Jesus, surrounded by family on Sunday, November 11, 2018, at her daughter’s home in Oak Brook, IL.

Martha was born October 17, 1921, in Sweden. She was the daughter of the late Tore and Elsa Bergeson.

Martha was blessed with a large, loving family. She married the love of her life, the late Nick Leno, on October 18, 1941 in Chicago, IL where they raised their five children.

Martha was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. She was a loyal Chicago Cubs fan, Election Judge, and driver of the Gloria Dei School bus.

She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her daughter, Grace (Greg) Kern; sons, Tore (Kathy) Leno, Nick (Linda) Leno, Jim (Pam) Leno, David (Nancy) Leno; 20 grandchildren, Greg Kern Jr., the late Tore Leno, Joe Kern, Michael Leno, Mark Leno, Rose Hannan, Jim Leno Jr., Tim Leno, Jennifer Knox, Katie Leno, Kathleen Garcia, Nick Leno, Tony Leno, Joanna Corbett, Amy Granat, Nick Leno III, Nicole Riehl, Gina Leno, Anthony Leno, David Leno Jr.; 40 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, who all meant the world to her.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 16, 2018 at 8:30 a.m. from Ridge Funeral Home, 6620 W. Archer Ave., Chicago, IL 60638, to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 5259 S. Major Ave., Chicago, IL for Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. Interment Bethania Cemetery, Justice, IL.
