Redskins claim Foster off waivers

-

The Redskins claimed Reuben Foster off waivers Tuesday after the 49ers released the linebacker following a domestic violence arrest, though it’s unclear if or when he’ll suit up for them.

“The Redskins fully understand the severity of the recent allegations made against Reuben,” vice president of player personnel Doug Williams said. “If true, you can be sure these allegations are nothing our organization would ever condone.”

The NFL put Foster on the Commissioner Exempt list, and he can’t practice or attend games while the league continues to review his situation. It was not immediately clear if or when Foster would report to the team’s facility.

The team said conversations with former Alabama teammates led to the decision to claim Foster. There are seven other Alabama products on the team.

Jackson likely to start again

With quarterback Joe Flacco not expected to practice this week, the Ravens reportedly will start Lamar Jackson against the Falcons.

Flacco has been on the shelf since he injured his right hip Nov. 4 against the Steelers.

In replacing Flacco, Jackson has led the Ravens to victories against the Bengals and Raiders, producing the most rushing yards (190) by a quarterback in his first two NFL starts.

This and that

The Vikings put safety Andrew Sendejo on injured reserve, ending his season after a groin injury limited him to only five games.

♦ Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston reached a settlement with a female Uber driver who accused him of sexual assault in March 2016 in Arizona.

♦ The Bills are shuffling punters, signing Matt Darr and releasing Colton Schmidt for the second time in three months.
