Katy Perry explains her ‘new-age way of living’ with Panca Karma

Katy Perry is using unconventional methods to combat aging, she shared in an interview with an Australian radio show.

Speaking to radio host Smallzy, the 34-year-old star described her positive experience with the cleansing practice Panca Karma.

“Especially as you get older and you have longer hangovers you realize the cells in my body are dying,” she said. “I did this thing called Panca Karma, it stems from India and it’s basically Ayurvedic eating and cleansing. You do lots of enemas.

“You definitely feel more energy and it basically gets all the crap out of you, pun intended,” she joked.

Perry, who recently released her first single of 2019, “Never Really Over,” described how she stays balanced, adding that her actor fiance Orlando Bloom is also on board.

“Orlando is very much all about a new-age

way of living,” she said. “Like today, we’re kind of on a health kick because we ate so many croissants on vacation. Because that’s what you’re supposed to do on vacation? So today I’m eating fruits and apple cider vinegar and I may have a vegan dinner later. And then probably tomorrow I’ll have an In-and-Out burger.”

Speaking of In-and-Out, Perry donned a burger suit on two separate high-profile occasions this year, inside of the Met Gala and during the ending of Taylor Swift’s “You Need to Calm Down” video, in which the two former frenemies publicly made up.

Enemas and apple cider vinegar aside, Perry praised the merits of indulging in special meals, particularly while traveling.

“When you’re in Europe and you’re on holiday ... if you’re gonna go to Italy, have some pasta, if you’re gonna go to France, eat a croissant, put some butter on it and put those delicious strawberry jams that they make and work tirelessly over, put them on your freaking croissant and shove it in your mouth,” she added.
