3 women sue Epstein estate, allege rape Walmart sues Tesla over solar panels

NEW YORK — Three women filed lawsuits Tuesday accusing Jeffrey Epstein of raping them or subjecting them to other forced sex acts, including one case while he was serving a Florida jail sentence that allowed him out to work during the day. The lawsuits in Manhattan federal court were filed on behalf of women who remained anonymous. The lawsuits say two women were 17 and the third woman was 20 when they said they were sexually assaulted by Epstein. All said they were also coerced into giving Epstein sexual massages for years.

NEW YORK — Walmart is suing Tesla, saying that several solar panels that Tesla installed on Walmart store rooftops went up in flames, causing millions of dollars in damage. The retailer said fires broke out at seven stores between 2012 and 2018. Merchandis­e was damaged, and one store in Ohio had to be closed for eight days.

Hasbro dropping plastic packages

NEW YORK — Hasbro is giving plastic packaging the boot. The toy maker says all packaging for its new products will be mostly plastic free by the end of 2022. It plans to stop using plastic bags, elastic bands and the shrink wrap that’s usually found around Monopoly, Scrabble and other board games. But Hasbro’s toys, such as Mr. Potato Head, will still be made with plastic.

L.A. Opera launches investigat­ion into allegation­s against Domingo

SAN FRANCISCO — Los Angeles Opera said Tuesday it will immediatel­y open a ‘thorough and independen­t investigat­ion’ into allegation­s of sexual harassment against the opera star Placido Domingo, the company’s general director. In a brief statement Tuesday, the opera company said it has hired Debra Wong Yang from the law firm of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher to lead the investigat­ion.
