Lettuce Entertain You teams up for delivery of healthy meals
Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises said Wednesday it has joined with Grubhub and the Whole30 dietary site to deliver healthy meals in Chicago.
The operation is branded as Whole30 Delivered and provides lunch and dinner, with menus rotated seasonally to highlight fresh ingredients. Meals are certified as “Whole30 compliant” by the diet program’s co-founder and CEO, Melissa Urban, the companies said.
Wednesday’s menu includes items such as California Citrus Salad, Tailgate Chili, Spanish Tart and Chimichurri Beef Tenderloin Skewer. Entrée prices ranged from $13.95 to $22.95.
The meals are prepared at Lettuce sites at 2300 N. Lincoln Park West and 325 W. Huron and the delivery area is limited, although the company did not give a range. The addresses correspond to Lettuce’s Mon Ami Gabi and Nacional 27 restaurants, but those businesses will remain separate from the delivery service.
“We are thrilled to be working with two great organizations, Whole30 and Grubhub, in putting together what we think is a very different delivery-only concept,” said R.J. Melman, Lettuce’s president. “We think Whole30 is a great step forward for delivery-only kitchens.”
The concept frees restaurants from the expense of a dining room and can allow for more frequent changes to offerings.
The service can be accessed through Grubhub or through whole30delivered.com. Hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 3:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.
Urban said, “As a single mom and CEO, I’m already imagining how Whole30 Delivered could save the day with delicious, hearty meals when meetings run late or I’m traveling a lot.”
