Trump booed at World Series
WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump made a low-profile appearance Sunday night at Game 5 of the World Series in Washington but drew loud boos and jeers when introduced to the crowd. Trump and first lady Melania Trump entered a lowertier box to the left of home plate as the game got underway. At the end of the third inning, ballpark screens carried a salute to U.S. service members that drew cheers. When the video cut to Trump and the loudspeakers announced the Trumps, cheers abruptly turned into a torrent of boos and heckling. Chants of “Lock him up!” broke out in some sections. The president stayed for seven innings before heading back to the White House. The Astros took a 3-2 series lead with a 7-1 victory.

Katie Hill, a rising Democratic star in the House, announced her resignation Sunday amid an ethics probe, saying explicit private photos of her with a campaign staffer had been “weaponized” by her husband and political operatives. In recent days, compromising photos of Hill, 32, and purported text messages from her to a campaign staffer surfaced online in a right-wing publication and a British tabloid.
Pittsburgh synagogue attack marked
PITTSBURGH — The first anniversary of the deadliest attack on Jews in U.S. history was being marked around the world Sunday. The shooting on Oct. 27, 2018, killed 11 worshippers and wounded seven at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh’s Squirrel Hill neighborhood, where a steady stream of people stopped by Sunday.
Biden: Kushner not qualified
