OVERVIEW: There’s some fishable ice north that might hold. Perch remain variable around Chicago.

LAKEFRONT PERCH: Shore fishing remains most consistent at South Side slips. Navy Pier and the downtown and North Side harbors are spotty at best. For boaters, Cal system is best. Slez’s: Good perch on extra-large fatheads on orange perch rigs from the mouth to the Ford plant.

CHAIN O’LAKES AREA: Hermann’s on Nielsen’s Channel: Back channel has 2 1/2 to 3 inches of ice. For updates, text ‘‘ice conditions’’ to (847) 309-2225. Triangle: Fishable ice on back channels and across the border at Lake Shangrila and Twin Lakes.

DELAVAN, WISCONSIN: Triangle: Ice fishing going on bay.

GREEN LAKE, WISCONSIN: Mike Norris: Three inches of ice formed last week on Beyer’s Cove. Waiting on big bluegill to show. Main Green Lake remains open. Ice anglers on Little Green around the island for crappie and bluegill. On Fox, Wedges Bay and Town Park have up to 5 inches.

GREEN/STURGEON BAYS, WISCONSIN: Howie’s: Some ice on shallow bays. Some trying for early pike and perch.

LAKEFRONT: Perch at top. Perch anglers also catching sporadic lakers and steelhead and the occasional brown and whitefish. Park Bait is closed.

NORTHERN WISCONSIN: Kurt Justice: ‘‘[Ice] thickness varies greatly from lake to lake and even on different parts of each lake.’’ Crappie are good. Otherwise, walleye (sucker minnows just before dark), pike and bluegill are good to fair.

NORTHWEST INDIANA: Slez’s: Steelhead fair throughout tributarie­s; Voodoo jigs best, but spawn sacs taking some. Surprise is a few coho caught from boat and shore.

POWERTON LAKE: Reopens to bank fishing Monday. Hours are 8 a.m.4 p.m. daily.

SHABBONA: Lakeside closed until ice fishing. Park hours are 8 a.m.5 p.m.

SOUTHWEST MICHIGAN: Tackle Haven: Some whitefish off pier. Some steelhead mid-river to Berrien Springs.
