Boy, 5, bitten by coyote in Lincoln Park, police say

-

A boy was attacked by a coyote Wednesday near the lakefront in Lincoln Park on the North Side, police said.

The 5-year-old was bitten multiple times about 4 p.m. in the 2400 block of North Cannon Drive, outside the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, Fire Department spokesman Larry Merritt said. He was taken to Lurie Children’s Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said. The coyote escaped northbound after the attack, police said.

Several coyote sightings have been reported on the North Side in the past week, with one pulled from Lake Michigan on Tuesday.
