It’s true! Strangely enough, the selection of toys sprinkled around the shop flew off the shelves quicker than the King Size sleepers themselves. Naturally, Pleasure Chest became provocateurs of pleasure products by the sheer laws of supply and demand, but more importantly, by listening to what the community really wanted.
The tiny waterbed store was hence transformed into the first Pleasure Chest! But unlike other adult retailers in the biz, there’s been no shame in our game. Staying steadfast in sex positivity from the start, we challenged convention by refusing to block out the store windows with XXX, which was standard for any store with adult material at that time.
