MERLO BRANCH LIBRARY REOPENS
After a $6 million rehab, the 78-year-old Merlo Branch Library, at 644 W. Belmont in Lake View, reopened Wednesday, with social distancing measures in place. Part of the first floor is shown above. The library was closed last year for an extensive renovation. Among those at the rededication was Joan Merlo, daughter of John “Jack” Merlo, the former alderman and state lawmaker for whom the building is named.
