31 MLB players record positive tests

Thirty-one Major League Baseball players and seven staff members tested positive for COVID-19 during intake for the resumption of training, a rate of 1.2 percent. MLB and the MLB Players Associatio­n announced the results as teams resumed workouts for the first time since the coronaviru­s interrupte­d spring training March 12.

Series champion Jimmie Johnson, 44, has tested positive for the coronaviru­s, becoming the first driver in any NASCAR series to do so, and will miss the race Saturday at Indianapol­is Motor Speedway.
