ILLI­NOIS DROPS UN­DER 1,000 NEW VIRUS CASES, RE­PORTS 20 MORE DEATHS

Illi­nois health of­fi­cials an­nounced 954 new COVID-19 cases on Sun­day af­ter record­ing three con­sec­u­tive days of over 1,000 cases.

The Illi­nois De­part­ment of Pub­lic Health also re­ported 20 more deaths caused by COVID-19. The deaths ranged in age from 60 to 90 years old and hap­pened in Cook, Cass, DuPage, Mor­gan, Will and Win­nebago coun­ties.

The slight dip in new cases is still more than what the state was record­ing just weeks ago. Since the coro­n­avirus out­break, the state has doc­u­mented 153,916 cases, span­ning all 102 of the state’s coun­ties, and 7,187 deaths.

The most re­cent con­firmed cases were de­ter­mined out of the 38,894 tests con­ducted over the last 24 hours. The sev­en­day pos­i­tiv­ity has inched up to 3%.
