49ers, Mostert rework deal

-

Running back Raheem Mostert, who emerged as a star during the 49ers’ run to the Super Bowl last season, reworked his contract after requesting a trade this month.

Agent Brett Tessler said Monday the new deal ensures Mostert, who scored 12 touchdowns in his last 10 games (regular season and playoff) last season, will report to training camp this week.

ESPN reported the 49ers added $2.75 million in incentives and bonuses to Mostert’s $2.575 million base salary this season.

†Washington put quarterback Alex Smith, 36, on the physically unable-to-perform list on the eve of training camp.

A physical showed Smith’s right leg has recovered 20 months after he suffered a broken fibula and tibia during a game in November 2018, but he hasn’t been fully cleared for practices, contact or full football activity.

†The NFL put Giants cornerback DeAndre Baker and Seahawks cornerback Quinton Dunbar on the exempt list. Both face criminal charges in connection with an armed robbery this spring in Miramar, Florida.
