Kentucky’s Peevy named DePaul AD

Chicago Sun-Times - - BY THE NUMBERS -

DePaul hired Kentucky deputy athletic director DeWayne Peevy to be its new AD, effective Sept. 1.

Peevy will replace Jean Lenti Ponsetto, who is retiring after a 45-year career at the university. She has served as DePaul’s AD for the last 18 years and announced her retirement in June.

Peevy, who was at Kentucky for 12 years, has extensive experience in all areas of college athletics, with a special focus on men’s basketball.

‘‘I am honored and humbled to accept the position of director of athletics at DePaul,’’ Peevy said in a statement. ‘‘DePaul is a proud and tradition-rich athletic department built on the foundation of a strong mission in a diverse urban community. My family and I are all excited and energized to join the Blue Demon family.’’
