Scott Laughton scored at 12:20 of over­time, and the Fly­ers squan­dered a two-goal lead in the last five min­utes of reg­u­la­tion be­fore re­cov­er­ing to de­feat the Is­landers 4-3 and avoid elim­i­na­tion in their East­ern Con­fer­ence semi­fi­nal in Toronto. The Is­landers still lead the se­ries 3-2.

♦ The Pen­guins an­nounced cen­ter Sid­ney Crosby had arthro­scopic wrist surgery Mon­day, and gen­eral man­ager Jim Ruther­ford said the re­cov­ery time is about a month. The team didn’t spec­ify which wrist was in­jured.
